A new Competence-Verification & Training

Project Objective

The Project Objective is to advance classical CBT tools and knowledge management systems to a competence verification and training interface, exactly copying and integrating the desktop structure of the navigation console in question.

To realise this, a PC tool will be developed which is not a modified copy of the original application software but an autonomous applet mirroring certain screenshots of the application with a selected pre-defined operability.

The competence verification and training tool will be completed by tutorial explanations / animations to illustrate the operation of the relevant control elements. As trainees can learn directly on the console’s graphical interface the imparted knowledge can be transferred immediately in a one-to-one on real equipment and the real situation which can bee seen as an innovative learning method.

Outcomes

The primary outcome of this Transfer of Innovation Project is a self-supporting software designed for competence verification and training reflecting a selected item of complex navigational support equipment (e.g. a modern Radar).

This will be backed by a detailed report showing information on overall performance of the tests and potential improvements; feedback questionnaires and results evaluation; statistics; tendencies; and corrective measures.
